Brief History

Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) was established in September 1994 by Apostle (Rtd) J K Essel, then a Pastor and Tarkwa Area Head. The assembly started its meetings at the roof top of the Tarkwa Central Chapel and was moved to the Saint Paul Nursery School at Tarkwa na Aboso. The assembly was later inaugurated by Pastor J K Essel, shortly after moving into the school, were we spent about seven years.

At her inaugural meeting, there was a notable prophecy by Deaconess Ackah Wilson, now Mrs Onyame Tsiase, that He God has establish this Assembly to raise young men and women for His work, that people will call us blessed in all spheres of life and that abundant grace and gifts shall be poured on the members of the assembly from time to time, that PIWC shall be made a District, that the assembly shall become very great.

Tarkwa English Assembly becoming a District in the Church of Pentecost was fulfilled in September 2009 when the district was inaugurated and given a resident minister, Pastor Steve Millar and family. Thus, the need for a place of abode for the resident minister became an exigent issue and the leadership with the support of the Area had to rent an apartment to house the minister. The leadership then committed to not renewing the tenancy agreement and resolved to get a permeant place of abode before or at the expiration of the tenancy agreement.

A parcel of land was secured behind Akyempim and through the sacrificial giving which is imbedded in the people a place of abode has been built and we are here today to dedicate it to the glory of Jehovah God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
